Born and raised in New York City, Robin is a product of both urban and rural influences. Her parents, who learned from elders born in the 1880s, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the oral histories and traditions of their Virginia roots. At the same time, Robin was shaped by the emerging hip-hop culture that surrounded her in New York.

Robin’s vast knowledge of genealogy is evident in her ability to sift through old documents with patience and precision. She is a scholar, a griot, a mother, a friend, and a leader who possesses a near photographic memory and a never-ending curiosity. Her sensitivity to the historical, cultural, and spiritual nuances of African-American history makes her uniquely qualified to help others navigate the sometimes brutal and always beautiful stories of their ancestors.

Through rigorous research and passionate exploration, Robin has become a leader in the field of genealogy, with nearly 40 years of experience as a nonprofit fundraiser. She has raised millions of dollars for international, arts, and higher education institutions, all while honing her expertise in genealogy. She holds a degree in Black Studies and Middle East Studies from Fordham University and has earned four genealogy certificates, including one in Forensic Genetic Genealogy from the University of New Haven’s Henry Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.

Robin uses her training in advanced DNA analysis to complement traditional genealogical methods, actively making connections between genetic matches/relatives, oral histories, documentary evidence. She is well-equipped to help her clients find the answers to burning questions about their ancestors.
